That will capture stories from community leaders in Little Jamaica with a podcast series that will be produced by local youth through a skill-building STEAM program during the summer of 2023.

Details
We’re looking for up to 10 Black youth aged 14-18 years old from the Little Jamaica area to take part in a experiential skill-building project that will result in the creation of a podcast and interactive public art sidewalk decals.
The program will take place over a 10-week period from July 24 to September 30 with sessions lasting 1.5-2 hours (with the exception of interview days).
We're looking for facilitators!
Looking for someone to file the role of an administrative assistant to provide accessibility accommodations by supporting with tasks (ie. note taking, managing timelines, scheduling etc.) during the time span of the project.
Must have experience in a previous admin role, be able to effectively communicate and available for in-person and online meetings.

Length of contract: July 24 – September 30, 2023
Time Commitment: About 2-4 hours a week (with some exceptions)
Rate: $2000

Additionally, as this project is geared towards helping Black youth develop creative skills through being introduced to mentors with relevant experience, there will also be a priority to onboard those who identify as part of the African Diaspora.

This is a mentor role.
Looking for someone with a good understanding of audio storytelling and be able to coach youth while an interview is still in progress. Can teach about how to think about a podcast episode and breakdown the key components for beginners.

Responsible for:
- Breaking down the key components of a podcast and telling a good story
- Providing mentorship to youth creatives to help them understand how to construct interview questions and engage in discussion with interviewees.
- Â Work with youth to tell compelling stories
- Suggesting how to find additional footage that can be added to podcast
Must have audio production and story creation experience, and proficient writing and audio-editing skills.

Length of contract: July 24 – September 30, 2023
Time Commitment: 1 in-person workshop that would last for 1.5 hours.
Coaching during the 2 sessions that youth would carry out podcast interviews. These days would be 4 hours each.
Rate: $1250

This is an artist and mentor role.
Looking for someone with a good understanding of audio engineering who is also able to teach what they know to people who are beginners. They will also be responsible for putting together the final audio podcast elements.
Responsible for:
- Teaching the youth creatives about accessible software that can be used to edit recorded audio
- Going over the technical equipment with the youth and how to use it to do podcasting.
- Work with the youth to highlight the best way to go about featuring the recorded interviews from community leaders
- Edit and score interview recordings
Must have extensive audio production experience and production knowledge. Interest and knowledge around podcasts is also required.

Editing the final podcast output.

This is an artist and mentor role.
Looking for a professional visual artist with experience working collaboratively. You will help to guide the youth creatives in coming up with conceptual designs for the decals that will represent the podcast created from this project.

Responsible for:
- Brainstorm with the youth on the conceptual designs for the sidewalk decals
- Create sketches for the youth to offer feedback
- Create the final 3 digital illustrations that will be used for the sidewalk decals
Must be a visual artist that has digital illustration experience.

Time Commitment: 1 online workshop and 1 in-person workshop that would last for 1.5-2 hours.
Creating 3 digital designs.
Rate: $2000
